So I’m enjoying the time at home with my family. It’s great not having to spend
all the evenings studying.

That said I can’t just slack off and do nothing. I still want to learn. I have
a commute to work and I’ll spend that time studying for CCDP.

Why CCDP? I’m already a CCDA and my work involves doing designs so it won’t
hurt to go deeper in that direction. From what I’ve seen so far the CCDP seems
far more interesting than the CCDA.

I’ll try to write about things I pick up from the book. I don’t always agree 100%
with the book and in those cases I might write about it here and argue why I
don’t agree with the book.

Hope you guy guys are sticking around for my next journey 🙂

CCDE does interest me, I’ll give you that. I don’t think I can commit that kind of time now though. But I might get back to it further down the road. For now I want to broaden my knowledge with some security and maybe even some wireless down the road. One step at a time though 🙂

Wow Daniel, that is great. This is what i want to do too … CCIE R&S -> CCDP -> CCNP: Security + CCDE or CCIE Security.
Any thoughts on CCIE DC ?

Looks very similar to my path 🙂

CCIE DC is interesting but I’m not working in an environment with lots of Nexus for now. I will probably look into it in the future and maybe try out the Nexus 1000v.

Doesn’t the CCDP material feel shallow after you have been living in the CCIE level stuff for at least 3 years? I am not a CCIE but even now when preparing for the CCIE exams, the CCNP level books feels very low level.

You are right about that. If I was to read the CCNP books again I would probably be disappointed with the details that are missing.

CCDP feels like a good step for now as I don’t have time to go for the CCDE. My goal for now is to be an expert in RS and then broaden my view a bit. Do the DP and then some security stuff and after that I’ll have to reconsider what my next step should be.

Goood luck!!!! Just take it easy since you just finish the R&S, don’t get overwhelmed. CCDP is a good one from my point of view. I have CCDA as well because design networks is very enjoyed to me. Keep ur blog open running that I’ll be one of many ones who support you. 🙂

You will love the CCDP material. Just to warn you though. Once you finish the CCDP you will crave more design 🙂
